Once installed, version 11 takes up noticeably more space and goes to the disk more often, so it is worth starting by configuring the system for server-style operation.
Change the administrator credentials and set up the firewall: leave only the remote desktop port open and open the rest as the need arises.
Turn off visual effects in the performance settings. Transparency, shadows and interface animation look good on a local machine, but over RDP they put extra load on the connection and the processor.
Check which applications start with the system. In the desktop editions, startup is usually packed with background services that a server does not need.
Set up an update schedule and backups. A system snapshot taken before you install the main software lets you roll back in a minute if something goes wrong.
